A Halo of Strangeness

Collect other people’s memories. A place doesn’t mean anything until you meet somebody who tells you a story.

A billionaire sings karaoke in a dining room the size of a stadium, and a stranger from England is hired to help build the future, at a speed no one could sustain. What follows is a love affair with a country moving faster than any he has known. There are glass towers at midnight, faces that give nothing away, and a woman who carries a thousand years in her bones. Then come a plague year, a door slowly closing, and a grey English morning, where he learns that leaving a place is not the same as letting it go. Volume I of two, on Kindle, with selected plates.
