In the taiga there is nowhere left to run.

Alone in the Siberian forest, stripped of every certainty, Slim learns to listen as the trees listen. A guardian without a fixed shape gives him a single sentence to live by: I am part of the whole, and the whole is part of me. At dusk the animals come, and in them, for a moment, the women he has loved. Then what has hunted him since Copenhagen closes in, and he does the one thing he has never done. He turns around. Book IV of four, on Kindle.
